Andrew was not able to attend college or art school because of family situations while living at home , however he has taken several Art correspondence courses , Famous Artists Schools and North Light. When drafted into the Army, he worked as an illustrator at Fort Benning , Ga. , after being dis-charged Andrew needed to work in various jobs to support his wife and two sons . Some of those employments were in drafting and design for tanks and process piping .
Several years later Andrew was able to return to art as a ” self-employed illustrator ” . After the great 2008 down turn in the economy illustration work ceased .
He started pursuing paintings of landscapes and other subjects in more recent years really his first love in Art .
Andrew primarily works in oils . Casein , acrylic and watercolor are other mediums used .
Andrew has been married to his wife Kathy for almost 47 years and they have four wonderful grand children (also two exceptional daughters-in-law ) .
His painting ” Mills Lake ” was selected as one of the finalist in the ” 12th International ARC Salon ” .
He is a member of the Greater Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce (for 20 years ) .
